- How do I set up parental controls?
There are 3 different ways to set up parental controls based on what type of digital receiver you have.

- Can I view the equipment user guides online?
Yes, you can view, save and download user guides
for your equipment any time online.
- How do I reboot my digital receiver?
Power off the device either using the remote or the power button (usually located on the front of the receiver). Unplug the power cord for 15 seconds, then plug the power cord back in and power on the unit.
- How do I program my cable remote control?

- Are digital receivers necessary?
If you want to watch digital stations, yes, you need to have a digital receiver. You can only receive analog channels without a digital receiver.
- Do I need a separate digital receiver for each TV?
Yes, you need a receiver for each TV that you would like to watch digital channels.
- How do I order additional digital receivers?
You can call our customer service line at 1-800-2GRANDE or visit one of our local retail centers. You can then install the receiver yourself for free or choose to have a technician deliver one to your home for a small installation fee.
- What is a Digital Video Recorder (DVR)?
A DVR lets you pause live TV or record and re-play your favorite TV programs and movies on your own schedule. It is easy to setup and use with Grande's interactive program guide.
- Can I get a TiVo Premiere with my Grande TV service?
Yes. You can find more information on TiVo Premiere from Grande.
- Do I have to buy any DVR equipment?
There is no equipment to buy. You can rent a DVR receiver from us.
- How many hours of programs can I record with a DVR?
Most DVRs will record up to approximately 90 hours of Standard Definition recordings and 12-20 hours of High Definition programming.
- Do I have to sign a contract or pay a cancellation fee for a DVR?
There is no contract or cancellation fee related to DVR service.
- Can I use my VCR/DVD player with a DVR?
Yes, you can use this equipment together.
- Does a DVR receiver cost more than a standard digital receiver?
DVR service does have a cost associated in addition to the rental fee for the receiver.
- Do I have control over setting DVR program recording priorities?
Customers who have a Scientific Atlantic receiver cannot currently set recording priorities. This includes customers who reside in one of the following markets: Austin, San Antonio, San Marco or Waco.
Customers residing in Dallas, Corpus Christi or Midland-Odessa with Motorola receivers can set priorities. To help you manage which series get recorded when there are scheduling conflicts, your DVR automatically creates a Series Priority List.
The first series you set to record has the highest priority and is the program recorded in case of a conflict. If there are no conflicts, each additional series you set to record is added to the bottom of the list. You can easily change the recording priority of the programs so that the programs of your choice are recorded in case of a conflict.
- Can I use DVR on all the TVs in my home?
Yes, but keep in mind that each television will need its own DVR receiver with DVR service.
- How many TVs can I connect to Grande TV service? Do I need a receiver on each TV?
Grande can connect as many TVs as you need to our Basic service without any additional equipment or additional monthly cost. If you would like to add Digital service to your TVs you can add up to 20 digital receivers to 20 TV sets. On any TV without equipment, you will receive non-digital channels only. There may be a fee related to activation/installation of outlets that are not ready for service.
- How do I order Movies On Demand?
Simply tune to Channel 1 to browse movie and program titles.
- What should I do if I get an error message when using On Demand?
We suggest first resetting your digital receiver and attempting to watch your program again. If you are still experiencing an issue, please contact our technical support team and we will be glad to assist you further.
- Do you offer an On Demand program guide?
Tune to Channel 1 for a complete listing of available programs.
- How much does it cost to use On Demand?
On Demand provides you with over 4,000 movie & TV programs-most of them free. The latest hit movies and adult titles have a small fee associated with them. Tune to Channel 1 for more information.
- What's the difference between HDTV and regular TV?
HDTV stands for High Definition Television, which provides higher viewing resolutions for enhanced picture quality.
- Do I need an HDTV to get Grande TV service?
A common misconception is that digital TV is the same as HDTV. Digital TV is available to any customer with any TV. HDTV is available to any customer with a High Definition TV. We have receivers for both types of service.
- What do I need in order to get HDTV service?
You will need an HD compatible TV and an HD receiver in order to view programming in high definition.
- How do I know if my TV is HD-ready?
Most new televisions support HD. Consult your TV user manual or TV manufacturer to determine whether your television supports HD.
- Does HDTV cost more money?
We include HD channels in our TV packages. If you subscribe to the regular signal of a channel that we also offer in HD, you will receive the HD channel.
- Can I install my HD receiver (i.e. self-install)?
Yes. If you already have cable service with us, you may pick up a HD receiver in our retail center and install it yourself.
- How do I exchange my digital receiver for an HD or HD DVR receiver?
You can visit one of our local retail centers or choose to have a technician come to your home for a small installation fee.
- Can I get non-HD channels with an HD receiver?
Yes.
- Will all the programs on the HD channels be high-definition?
Not all programs and commercials on HD channels are sent with an HD signal. It will depend on the station's programming.
- Can I get DVR (Digital Video Recorder) for HD?
Yes, we offer HD DVR receivers
- Can I get On Demand in HD?
Yes, we offer some On Demand TV shows and movies in HD. Check listings on Channel 1 for availability.
